Industrialist Gautam Adani has inaugurated a major eye care institution in Bihar while unveiling an ambitious investment roadmap aimed at strengthening the state’s infrastructure, energy capacity and employment landscape.

The newly launched Adani Akhand Jyoti Eye Care Hospital in Saran district has been developed at a cost of ₹150 crore. The facility is designed to conduct nearly 3.3 lakh eye surgeries annually, addressing conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and retinal disorders. In addition to treatment services, the hospital will serve as a training hub, preparing around 1,000 eye care professionals every year.

As part of efforts to expand access to healthcare, patient transport buses were flagged off to bring individuals from remote and underserved villages to the hospital. The initiative forms part of a larger commitment toward strengthening eye care services in the state, with ₹700 crore earmarked for related projects in Bihar and ₹500 crore allocated nationwide.

Massive Investment Blueprint for Bihar

Beyond healthcare, the Adani Group outlined plans to invest between ₹50,000 crore and ₹60,000 crore in Bihar over the next three to four years. The proposed investments will span multiple sectors including power generation, road networks, logistics, education and industrial development.

A key highlight of the expansion plan is the establishment of a 2,400 MW power plant aimed at boosting the state’s energy infrastructure. The group indicated that these projects are expected to generate substantial employment opportunities and accelerate economic growth.

Meeting with State Leadership

During his visit to Patna, Gautam Adani met Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, expressing confidence in the state’s development trajectory. In a public message shared after the meeting, Adani reaffirmed the group’s commitment to contributing to Bihar’s growth through investments in infrastructure, energy and social welfare initiatives.

The initiatives, rooted in the philosophy of “Seva Hi Saadhna Hai” (service as devotion), signal a combined focus on healthcare access and large-scale industrial expansion, positioning Bihar as a key destination for upcoming investments.
