The Indian government has issued a warning against a viral WhatsApp forward claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is offering three months of free mobile recharge to all Indian users. The claim has been debunked as fake by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check team.

The misleading message, which has been widely circulated on social media, suggests that the government is providing the free recharge as a special benefit to the public. However, the PIB Fact Check has confirmed that there is no such scheme being run by the Government of India.

This claim is fake Government of India is running no such scheme This is an attempt to defraud," read the tweet from PIB Fact Check, urging citizens to be cautious of such fraudulent messages.
