Govinda Issues Statement After Accidental Gunshot Injury, Thanks Fans and Doctor
Bollywood actor Govinda has released his first statement after suffering a gunshot wound on the morning of October 1. The 60-year-old actor recorded an audio message from the hospital, expressing gratitude to his doctor and fans for their support.
Speaking in Hindi, Govinda said, “With the blessings of my fans, my parents, and God, I am feeling much better now. I sustained a bullet injury, but it has been treated. The bullet has been removed, and I want to thank my doctor, Dr. Aggarwal, and all my fans who prayed for me.”
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning as Govinda was preparing for a flight to Kolkata. While cleaning his licensed revolver at around 4:45 am, the gun accidentally discharged, hitting him in the leg. He was rushed to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai and admitted to the ICU.
Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, was out of Mumbai at the time but has been assured that her husband is out of danger. The couple’s daughter is by his side at the hospital.
This incident has sparked concern among Govinda’s fans, but the actor has reassured everyone that he is recovering well.
