Across the border in Tibet, around 200 Indian nationals have requested emergency evacuation assistance:

• Zutulphuk: 30 individuals traveling toward Saga

• Jilong City: 4 individuals

• Transit Routes: 60 to 70 individuals moving through adjacent areas

Impact and Destruction Profile

The crisis began when a massive ice collapse blocked the Lhende tributary of the Bhote Koshi River. The resulting torrent breached the Gyirong Port border post near Rasuwagadhi before sweeping through Nepal’s Rasuwa, Dhading, and Nuwakot districts.

The surge destroyed local housing, road networks, and energy installations. While river levels could temporarily fluctuate due to local rain, flood monitoring authorities report that secondary surges are unlikely. Downstream along the Indian border, authorities in Bihar remain vigilant; water flow at the Valmikinagar Barrage has decreased to 88,000 cusecs from a peak of 150,000 cusecs.

Humanitarian Relief Efforts

India has deployed two military transport aircraft carrying 47.5 tonnes of emergency relief materials, including shelter gear, medical supplies, water purification systems, and ration packs. Defense helicopters are air-dropping supplies directly into isolated villages.
