An Indian student has made a mark at one of the world’s leading academic institutions, with Pritthish Roy securing a position in the London School of Economics (LSE) Student Union’s Master of Laws (LLM) Elections for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Roy is the only candidate from India to be elected in this year’s polls. He will serve alongside an international cohort that includes Berni Gutierrez (Chile), Sebastián Díez (Guatemala), Tomas Jaramillo Quintero (Colombia), Sara Gabrielli (Luxembourg), and Dominique Bura (Switzerland), reflecting the diverse global representation within LSE’s law programme.

In addition to his election victory, Roy has also been selected by the Law School—along with Sara Gabrielli—to act as a representative of the LSE Law Department in key decision-making forums. This role involves contributing to discussions and policies at the highest institutional levels, giving student representatives a direct voice in academic governance.

The achievement underscores growing Indian representation in global academic leadership spaces and highlights the increasing role of international students in shaping university policy and student advocacy at LSE.
