A new chapter in India–Denmark relations unfolded in Copenhagen on Friday with the formal launch of the Indo-Danish Business Council (IDBC) — an initiative designed to strengthen economic, technological, and strategic partnerships between the two nations.
The Council will focus on advancing cooperation in areas such as green energy, healthcare, life sciences, fintech, and sustainable business models, reflecting both countries’ shared vision for innovation-led growth and environmental responsibility.
The official launch took place at a high-profile gala attended by diplomats, business leaders, scientists, and entrepreneurs from both countries.
Trust Legal’s Founder and Managing Partner Sudhir Mishra, one of the key figures behind the Council’s creation, praised India’s Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat, for his leadership and vision. “Your dedication and passion for Bharat inspired us to bring IDBC to life in Copenhagen,” Mishra said, while also recognising Dr Lalit Bhasin, President of the Society of Indian Law Firms, for his valuable guidance in shaping the initiative.
The Council will be chaired by Freddy Svane, a prominent sustainability advocate and thought leader in global climate partnerships.
Three leading professionals will co-chair and guide IDBC’s mission:
-
Subhrangshu Kumar Neogi, based in India, will spearhead business engagement and strategy to strengthen ties between Indian and Danish enterprises.
-
Dr Rajat Pandey, a Copenhagen-based scientist and venture capitalist, will focus on innovation, startups, and joint ventures.
-
Ravindra Kumar, operating from London, will enhance collaboration across the UK–India–Denmark business corridor, leveraging two decades of international experience.
Calling the launch a “symbol of shared progress and innovation,” Mishra described the IDBC as “the birth of a new Indo-Danish baby,” marking the beginning of a stronger, future-driven partnership between India and Denmark.
