At an event in Geneva, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar appeared to take a subtle jab at Rahul Gandhi’s popular campaign slogan "khata-khat," which was used by Gandhi during the Lok Sabha elections to promise quick financial transfers to women if Congress came to power. Jaishankar, in his speech, emphasized that real progress doesn't come through quick fixes but requires persistent hard work and determination.
Addressing the Indian community, Jaishankar remarked that life is not about instant results but about putting in the effort and having the right policies in place. He stated, “Anyone who has worked hard knows that success doesn’t come easily. It takes time, effort, and diligence.”
He also highlighted the importance of India building its manufacturing sector in order to become a major global power. According to Jaishankar, no country can truly develop advanced technology without a strong manufacturing foundation. He argued that it is crucial for India's growth and its aspiration to be a leading player on the world stage.
This came in the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments during a student interaction in the U.S., where he mentioned that countries like China and Vietnam have successfully avoided unemployment issues by becoming global manufacturing hubs, a challenge still faced by India and many Western nations.
