During a rally in Kanpur on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian Army for its bold execution of Operation Sindoor, stating that the mission had deeply unsettled India’s adversaries and demonstrated the power of India’s domestically developed defence technologies like the BrahMos missile.
PM Modi highlighted that the success of the operation not only showcased military strength but also the resolve of Indian women. “The world saw what happens when Indian daughters and sisters rise in anger — we struck deep within enemy territory, destroying terror camps located hundreds of miles inside Pakistan,” he said.
He asserted that the shockwaves from Operation Sindoor were so severe that Pakistan was left scrambling for a ceasefire. “Those who were pleading then should not assume it's all over. Let this be a clear message — India will not back down,” Modi warned.
He laid out India’s uncompromising stance on terrorism, underlining three key principles: the armed forces will respond decisively to any terror attack, choosing their own timing and tactics; India refuses to be threatened by nuclear posturing; and both terrorists and their state sponsors will face the same consequences.
Taking a dig in local style, the Prime Minister said, “To say it in true Kanpur fashion — wherever the enemy may be hiding, they will be hit hard.”
Modi also emphasized the success of ‘Make in India’ in strengthening the nation’s defence capabilities. He noted that indigenous weapons like the BrahMos were instrumental during Operation Sindoor. “Our missile hit the designated targets with precision, demonstrating the effectiveness of Indian-made systems,” he said.
He further noted Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a defence manufacturing hub. “While this region once saw its traditional industries decline, today it is witnessing the rise of defence sector giants,” he said. “The AK-203 rifles are already being produced in Amethi, and the BrahMos missile — which caused sleepless nights for the enemy — is also now linked to UP.”
