The Karnataka High Court dismissed a petition from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, contesting the legality of Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot's decision to sanction his prosecution in connection with the alleged MUDA land scam.

The ruling was made by a bench led by Justice M. Nagaprasanna, which rejected Siddaramaiah's challenge to the Governor's approval for three individuals to initiate corruption proceedings against him regarding land granted by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to his wife, BM Parvathi.

The court noted that the Governor has the authority to make independent decisions, affirming that the sanction for prosecution did not indicate a lack of consideration on the Governor's part, as reported by Bar and Bench. The bench also highlighted the necessity for further investigation into the allegations presented in the petition before dismissing it.
