Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the Election Commission (EC) has refused to upload Form 17C, which records the number of votes cast at each polling booth, despite multiple requests.
Taking to social media platform X, the former Delhi Chief Minister announced that AAP has launched a dedicated website—transparentelections.in—to make this data publicly available.
"The Election Commission has declined to upload Form 17C and the booth-wise vote count for each Assembly seat despite repeated appeals. In response, AAP has created a website where we have made all Form 17C records accessible. This document contains detailed vote counts for every booth," Kejriwal posted.
Push for Electoral Transparency
Form 17C is a crucial document that records votes cast at each polling station and is signed by the presiding officer and polling agents. Kejriwal further stated that AAP will be compiling and presenting the data in a tabulated format to ensure easy access for voters.
"Throughout the day, we will present data for every Assembly and booth in a structured format, allowing every voter to access this information. Ensuring transparency is the responsibility of the Election Commission, but it is unfortunate that they are refusing to do so," he added.
Election Outcome on the Horizon
Kejriwal’s statement comes just a day before the vote counting for the Delhi Assembly elections, a crucial contest that will determine whether AAP secures a fourth consecutive term or if the BJP returns to power in the national capital after 27 years.
According to multiple exit polls, the BJP is projected to have an edge over AAP, which has governed Delhi since 2015. The final results will be announced tomorrow.
