Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Friday kicked off the 'Revdi Par Charcha' campaign, targeting voters ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February next year. The campaign name plays on a criticism by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding AAP’s provision of free services, often referred to as "revdis." Kejriwal stated that the party’s district and booth-level representatives will reach voters through 65,000 meetings and distribute pamphlets outlining the free services offered by the AAP government.

These services include free electricity, water, education, healthcare at mohalla clinics, free bus travel for women, a pilgrimage scheme for the elderly, and ₹1,000 per month for women. Kejriwal challenged the BJP, asking what the party has done for Delhi in the last decade, given the central government’s equal authority over the national capital. He added that BJP-ruled states do not offer similar benefits, accusing the party of lacking the intention to provide such services.

The AAP leader also criticized Union Ministers Amit Shah and Hardeep Puri for failing to fulfill promises made to the Purvanchali community during the previous elections. He pointed out that despite promises of regularizing unauthorized colonies, the BJP had not completed a single one in five years. In contrast, Kejriwal emphasized that AAP had improved the lives of Purvanchali residents.

On the election front, AAP announced 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Among them, Brahma Singh Tanwar will contest from Chhatarpur, Anil Jha from Kiradi, and Deepak Singhla from Vishwas Nagar. The list also includes six former BJP and Congress members, a move that Kejriwal defended, calling it an indication of widespread support for the party.

This announcement came a day after Kailash Gahlot, the former Delhi Transport Minister and a prominent AAP leader, joined the BJP. His defection, marked by an induction ceremony with Union Ministers ML Khattar and Harsh Malhotra, was hailed as a significant shift ahead of the February elections.
