Lalit Modi has publicly dismissed speculation that he could be one of the contestants on the 20th season of Bigg Boss. The businessman took to X on Saturday to deny the reports and said he had not been contacted about joining the Salman Khan-hosted reality show.

Calling the reports “fake news”, Modi said no one from the programme had approached him and that he had no intention of becoming part of the show.

He also criticised the publications and social media accounts that circulated the claim, questioning why they had not checked the information with him before publishing it.

LALIT MODI SHARES LEGAL NOTICE

Along with his post, Modi shared a legal notice issued by his lawyers, Hirani & Associates, to outlets and social media accounts that had reported his alleged participation.

The notice states that the reports were false and that Modi had neither been contacted by the show's producers or broadcasters nor authorised anyone to speak on his behalf regarding the programme.

It further states that Modi had not given any publication confirmation that he would appear on Bigg Boss 20.

His legal representatives also objected to the use of his name, photograph, image, voice or other personal attributes in a manner that could suggest an association with the reality show.

MEDIA OUTLETS ASKED TO REMOVE REPORTS

Modi's legal team has called on publications and digital platforms to withdraw or remove the reports and avoid republishing similar claims without first verifying them with him.

The notice also asks those who have circulated the reports to take note of his clarification and refrain from suggesting that he is connected with Bigg Boss 20.

WHAT IS NEW IN BIGG BOSS 20?

The controversy comes ahead of the launch of the latest season of Bigg Boss.

The show's first promotional trailer has already revealed a new element for the upcoming edition, with Salman Khan introducing an additional “jeevan daan” or lifeline for contestants.

Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to premiere on September 6 on JioHotstar and Colors.

While the official contestant list has not yet been announced, several names have been circulating in reports and online speculation. These include Nia Sharma, Arjun Bijlani, Karan Patel and Jannat Zubair.

For now, however, one name can be ruled out based on his own statement: Lalit Modi says he will not be entering the Bigg Boss house
