A warm farewell from French President Emmanuel Macron marked the final moments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France, underscoring the close relationship between the two nations.

Macron's use of Hindi while bidding goodbye to Modi attracted attention and was widely seen as a symbolic gesture reflecting the growing friendship and mutual respect between India and France.

The interaction came at the end of Modi's six-day trip, which focused heavily on technology, innovation and economic cooperation. The visit formed part of the India-France Year of Innovation 2026, an initiative aimed at expanding collaboration in emerging sectors.

During the visit, the two leaders held discussions on a range of strategic issues, including artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, clean energy solutions and startup ecosystems. These conversations were aimed at identifying new opportunities for cooperation and investment between the two countries.

Modi also participated in the VivaTech Summit in Paris, one of Europe's leading technology events. Alongside Macron, he visited India's largest-ever pavilion at the exhibition, which showcased Indian startups, technological advancements and innovation-driven enterprises.

The Prime Minister's itinerary additionally included bilateral engagements in Nice and participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, where global economic and geopolitical issues were discussed with world leaders.

Observers noted that Macron's Hindi farewell served as a reminder of the strong diplomatic rapport that has developed between the two leaders over the years. The gesture received widespread appreciation on social media, with many users viewing it as a reflection of the deepening strategic partnership between Paris and New Delhi.

As India and France continue to expand cooperation across technology, defence, climate initiatives and innovation, the visit is expected to further strengthen ties and pave the way for new collaborative projects in the years ahead.
