The BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra revealed its much-anticipated portfolio distribution on Saturday. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has retained key ministries, including Home, Energy (excluding Renewable Energy), Law and Judiciary, General Administration, and Information & Publicity.
Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar has been entrusted with the crucial Finance and Planning departments, along with the State Excise portfolio.
Former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who was reportedly interested in the Home Ministry, has been allocated portfolios such as Urban Development, Housing, and Public Works (Public Enterprises).

Background
The announcement followed Chief Minister Fadnavis’s statement earlier in the day, confirming that the portfolio allocation had been finalized and would be disclosed soon.
This decision comes after the swearing-in ceremony on December 5, which included Fadnavis and his two deputies, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. A total of 39 ministers were inducted into the cabinet ahead of the Winter Session starting December 15.
The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, had secured a decisive win in the November 20 assembly elections, clinching 230 out of 288 seats.
