Mamata Banerjee Affirms Trinamool's Membership in INDIA Bloc; Congress Expresses Doubt
Mamata Banerjee clarifies her earlier statement, affirming that the Trinamool Congress remains a member of the INDIA bloc in Delhi
16-05-2024West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reaffirmed her party's commitment to the Opposition's INDIA bloc, clarifying that while the Trinamool Congress is aligned with the bloc in Delhi, there is no formal alliance with the Congress and CPM in Bengal.
This statement follows Mamata Banerjee's previous declaration of support for the INDIA bloc from outside to form the central government. However, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury expressed skepticism, accusing Mamata Banerjee of abandoning the alliance.
Mamata Banerjee, during an election rally in Haldia, urged voters not to support attempts by Congress and CPI(M) to divide votes in Bengal, emphasizing her party's alignment with the INDIA bloc at the national level.
She also criticized the BJP for the outcome of the Nandigram seat in the 2021 Assembly elections, vowing to seek justice for what she deemed an unfair defeat.
