Police have apprehended a man in Jind for making a death threat in a WhatsApp group on the day of vote counting in Haryana
13-10-2024A man has been arrested for allegedly issuing a "death threat" against the Haryana Chief Minister in a WhatsApp group, according to police reports on Saturday.
The suspect, identified as Ajmer, hails from Deverar village in Jind district. Jind Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar stated that the threat was made on October 8, coinciding with the vote counting day in the state.
Upon learning of the threat, the police quickly registered a First Information Report (FIR) and apprehended Ajmer.
In the recent elections, Congress candidate and wrestler Vinesh Phogat secured the Julana assembly seat, defeating her closest rival, BJP nominee Yogesh Kumar, by a margin of 6,015 votes.
