Man Killed by Speeding Car While Bursting Firecrackers in Pune

A 35-year-old man died after being struck by a speeding vehicle while celebrating Diwali by bursting firecrackers in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune

A 35-year-old man tragically lost his life after being struck by a speeding vehicle while he was lighting firecrackers on the road in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune district.

The incident took place on November 1 and was recorded on CCTV. The victim, Soham Patel, was celebrating Diwali eve by bursting firecrackers when a car collided with him and then fled the scene.

Soham sustained serious injuries from the crash and succumbed shortly thereafter.

As of now, the driver responsible for the accident has not been apprehended, even after 48 hours. The Ravet police have filed a case against the unknown driver and are actively investigating the matter.

In a different incident, five children were injured in Pune’s Sinhgad area when the lid of a drain chamber exploded while they were bursting firecrackers on it, according to police reports.

Additionally, another firecracker-related tragedy occurred in Nagpur, where a 25-year-old man named Amol Waghmare was allegedly stabbed to death by a teenager. The altercation, which arose over the use of firecrackers on November 1, escalated to violence when the teenager attacked Waghmare with a knife, resulting in his death, as reported by police.
