Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured that people of all faiths are secure in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing that the well-being of Muslims is linked to the safety of Hindus. In a conversation with ANI, he described himself as a "Yogi" committed to the happiness and welfare of everyone. He highlighted the inclusive nature of Hindu traditions, asserting that a Muslim household surrounded by Hindu families would be completely safe and free to practice its customs. However, he questioned whether Hindus would experience the same level of security in a predominantly Muslim community, citing historical events in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan as examples of religious intolerance.

The Chief Minister noted that since the BJP formed the government in 2017, Uttar Pradesh has been free from communal clashes. "Muslims in the state are safer than ever before. When riots occurred before 2017, both Hindu and Muslim businesses and homes were affected. But after 2017, peace has prevailed," he stated.

Reaffirming his commitment to the state's progress, he added, "I am a simple citizen of Uttar Pradesh, a Yogi who wishes for everyone's prosperity. I stand for collective support and development."

Sanatan Dharma and Its Legacy

Adityanath also spoke about Sanatan Dharma, calling it the world's most ancient religion. He pointed out that unlike other faiths, Hinduism has never sought to convert people or impose its rule over others. "Sanatan Dharma has always followed a path of inclusivity. Nowhere in history have Hindu rulers conquered lands to enforce their beliefs," he said.

Criticism of Rahul Gandhi

In a sharp remark aimed at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Chief Minister stated that figures like him inadvertently benefit the BJP. He criticized Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, referring to it as a "Bharat Todo Abhiyan" (a campaign to divide the nation). He accused the Congress leader of undermining India’s image abroad and claimed that such actions only strengthen the ruling party.

Further targeting the Congress, he accused the party of deliberately keeping the Ayodhya dispute unresolved for years. He also questioned why the Congress did not abolish triple talaq or promote events like the Kumbh Mela with pride. "Why didn’t the Congress focus on creating world-class infrastructure?" he asked.

Religious Heritage and Legal Battles

As the head of the Gorakhnath Temple, Adityanath asserted that important Hindu sites symbolize India's rich cultural heritage. Addressing ongoing disputes over religious sites, he remarked, "We are uncovering the truth. Let those who wish to see, witness it. The reality of Sambhal is now evident." The reference was to a legal case concerning claims that the Shahi Jama Masjid stands on the remnants of an ancient Hindu temple.

He further cited Islamic principles, arguing that places of worship built over destroyed Hindu temples are not considered legitimate even in Islam. "Why were such structures built in the first place?" he questioned, vowing to continue restoring temples as more historical evidence emerges.

When asked about the Mathura mosque dispute, he stated that the government is adhering to court rulings but hinted that the situation could have escalated otherwise. "We respect legal processes, but one can only imagine what might have happened had we not followed the court's directives," he concluded.
