Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people in a video message on Monday, asserting that they would soon be free from the "rule of tyrants." In a three-minute clip released by his office, Netanyahu expressed solidarity with the Iranian populace.
He stated, "Every day, you witness a regime that oppresses you, making grand speeches about defending Lebanon and Gaza. Yet, every day, that regime plunges our region deeper into darkness and war." Netanyahu emphasized that the Iranian leadership does not prioritize the future of its citizens, but he believes the moment for Iran's freedom will arrive sooner than expected. He expressed hope for peace between the Jewish and Persian peoples once that occurs.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Israel's military reach, underscoring ongoing operations in Lebanon that have led to significant military successes, including the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. "There's nowhere we will not go to protect our people and our country," he declared.
Netanyahu noted, "I know you don't support the rapists and murderers of Hamas and Hezbollah, but your leaders do. You deserve more. The people of Iran should know Israel stands with you."
The killing of Nasrallah marks a substantial blow to both Hezbollah and Iran, as he was a central figure in Iran's 'Axis of Resistance' against Israeli and U.S. interests in the region. Following the intense airstrikes and the assassination, Israel hinted at the possibility of a ground invasion in Lebanon, with Hezbollah's deputy leader stating that the group is prepared for any military offensive.
