Nita Mukesh Ambani, the esteemed founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, made a notable visit to Varanasi on Monday to present the wedding invitation of her son, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
During her visit, she expressed, "I have brought the invite to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. Will offer it at the feet of the Lord."
Anant Ambani, youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries Limited, is set to marry Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant. The grand event is scheduled at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12. Guests have started receiving the ‘Save The Date’ invitations, adorned in traditional red and gold, revealing details of the three-day celebrations.
The main ceremonies will commence on July 12 with the auspicious Shubh Vivah, with Indian traditional attire as the dress code. This will be followed by Shubh Aashirwad on July 13, with an Indian formal dress code, and Mangal Utsav on July 14, featuring an Indian chic dress code. All events will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC, adhering to traditional Vedic Hindu rituals.
Radhika Merchant, daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant, joins the Ambani family in this union. The couple's journey began with a traditional engagement 'Roka' ceremony at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, in 2022, attended by close family and friends.
In preparation for the wedding, the Ambani family has been actively involved in philanthropic initiatives. Earlier this year, they facilitated the construction of 14 new temples within a sprawling complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat, during pre-wedding celebrations from March 1 to 3. The entire Ambani family, including Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani with wife Shloka Mehta and children Veda and Prithvi, as well as Isha Ambani with husband Anand Piramal and their children Aadiya Shakti and Krishna, participated in these festivities. Following the celebrations, Mukesh Ambani visited the Dwarkadish Temple in Gujarat.
Highlighting their commitment to cultural and spiritual endeavors, the Ambani family also attended the Ram Lalla pran pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya recently, where they made a generous donation of Rs 2.51 crore to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Nita Mukesh Ambani's visit to Varanasi and her offering of the wedding invitation at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple underscores the family's deep-rooted cultural values and their preparations for the upcoming nuptials of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
