Nita M. Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has been awarded the KISS Humanitarian Award 2025 for her contributions to social welfare and humanitarian initiatives.

The award was presented at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by educationist and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta.

Recognition for social initiatives

Ambani was recognised for her wide-ranging work in areas such as education, healthcare, sports development and rural empowerment. Through initiatives led by the Reliance Foundation, she has supported several programmes aimed at improving opportunities for youth and strengthening communities across India.

Her work includes backing sports academies, educational projects and welfare programmes that have benefited millions of people, particularly in underserved regions.

Prestigious global honour

The KISS Humanitarian Award was established in 2008 to recognise individuals around the world who have made notable contributions to the welfare of society.

Over the years, the honour has been presented to several prominent global figures, including Dalai Lama, Bill Gates and Ratan Tata.

Ceremony attended by students

The award ceremony at the campus was attended by students and members of the KIIT-KISS academic community. The event included interactions with students and was streamed live on social media platforms to reach a wider audience.

Organisers said the recognition highlights Ambani’s continued efforts to promote inclusive growth and empower communities through social initiatives.
