In his first public address since the launch of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized Pakistan for targeting religious landmarks and civilian infrastructure in the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
Speaking to the nation, PM Modi said that rather than standing with India in the fight against terrorism, Pakistan chose to strike schools, temples, gurdwaras, and the homes of innocent civilians. “They were shaken by our resolve, and instead of aiding the battle against terror, they struck at our places of worship and civilian life,” the Prime Minister remarked.
Referring to the military response, PM Modi said Operation Sindoor was more than a tactical name — it embodied the collective emotions of the people and a promise to uphold justice. “This was not just a military operation. It was a message. A vow from every Indian for the honor of our sisters and daughters,” he said.
He added that Indian forces were given complete freedom to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, and that the mission had sent a clear warning to those who dared to harm Indian women. “Every terror outfit has now seen the cost of daring to erase the ‘sindoor’ of our women,” he said, using a powerful metaphor symbolizing marital sanctity and cultural identity.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the psychological impact of the operation on terrorist groups, stating that their confidence had been shattered and their networks severely damaged. “None of them ever imagined India would act with such resolve. But when the country unites under the spirit of ‘Nation First’, action follows and results speak for themselves,” he said.
Modi concluded his speech by dedicating the success of Operation Sindoor to the women of India and praised the valor of the armed forces who carried it out with precision and dedication.
