In a late-night operation on Sunday, Bengaluru police arrested a Pakistani national, his Bangladeshi wife, and their two children, who had been residing in the Jigani area since 2018. The arrests followed an intelligence tip-off.
The Pakistani man, whose identity remains undisclosed, fled Pakistan due to a religious dispute. He initially sought refuge in Bangladesh, where he married a local woman. In 2014, the couple illegally entered India with the help of a local contact who provided false identification documents, including Aadhaar, a driving licence, and a passport.
After living in Delhi for a few years, the family relocated to Bengaluru in 2018. Their arrest was based on confirmed intelligence from Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officers. While authorities have not revealed the specific charges, investigations are ongoing to determine if the case is linked to broader security concerns.
