Parle has introduced a limited-edition version of its iconic Melody toffee, taking inspiration from the much-talked-about interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni during his recent visit to Italy.
The new offering, called Melody Tiramisu, celebrates the online buzz generated after PM Modi presented Meloni with a pack of Melody toffees as a gift. What began as a diplomatic gesture soon turned into a social media sensation, with users flooding platforms with memes and posts around the now-famous "Melodi" wordplay.
The viral moment gained further momentum after Giorgia Meloni posted a video on Instagram showcasing the gift. Smiling as she held the pack, she described it as a "very, very good toffee," a clip that quickly spread across social media and sparked widespread discussion.
Capitalising on the popularity of the moment, Parle has now given its classic coffee-flavoured candy an Italian makeover. The limited-edition variant blends Melody's signature taste with flavours inspired by tiramisu, one of Italy's most recognisable desserts, creating a special edition that reflects the cultural connection between the two countries.
The packaging also highlights the theme, carrying the message "Celebrating India-Italy Friendship," reinforcing the inspiration behind the launch.
The company chose Friendship Day (August 2) to introduce the new flavour, adding symbolic value to the release. According to reports, the special edition has been launched as a limited-time offering and is available exclusively through Blinkit.
The 180-gram pack has been listed in the coffee candy category and is expected to remain on sale only for a short period, making it a collector's item for Melody fans and those who enjoyed the viral India-Italy moment.
A household favourite for decades, Melody has now received an international twist, combining its familiar coffee taste with Italian dessert flavours while commemorating a social media trend that resonated across both countries.
