Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet India's contingent from the Paris 2024 Olympics on August 15, following the Independence Day celebrations. The meeting will take place around 1 pm and will include all 117 athletes who represented India in Paris. The Prime Minister, who had previously congratulated the medalists over the phone, will extend his support to the entire team.

India’s performance in the Paris Olympics featured a blend of notable successes and near misses, culminating in a total of six medals—five bronze and one silver. This falls short of the record medal tally achieved in Tokyo 2020.

Neeraj Chopra, the standout performer, secured a silver in javelin throw, becoming the first Indian to win two Olympic athletics medals. In shooting, Manu Bhaker made history as the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal, securing a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol and another in the mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh.

India's hockey team achieved a significant milestone by winning the bronze medal, marking back-to-back Olympic medals for the first time since 1972. The team’s victory over Spain was highlighted by a crucial performance from Harmanpreet Singh.

In table tennis, Manika Batra reached the pre-quarterfinals, and Sreeja Akula advanced to the round of 16, showcasing India's progress in the sport.

Despite these achievements, several athletes fell just short of the podium, leaving a mix of pride and disappointment as India reflects on its Olympic campaign.
