Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrates his 74th birthday today, marking another year of his long-standing public service. While his birthday often involves carrying out his official duties as usual, it also signals the beginning of the "Seva Parv," a two-week-long event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to celebrate his dedication to public welfare and service.
On this special day, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 26 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) at Gadakana in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. As part of this housing initiative, the Prime Minister will visit Gadakana, an area near Sainik School, and interact with the beneficiaries of the scheme. His visit emphasizes his government’s commitment to affordable housing and improving living conditions for underprivileged communities.
Following this event, Modi will head to Janata Maidan to officially launch the Subhadra Yojana. Under this scheme, more than 1 crore poor women will receive Rs 10,000 annually in two equal instalments over the next five years. This initiative, named after Goddess Subhadra, was one of the key promises made by the BJP during its election campaign in Odisha.
In addition to these welfare schemes, the Prime Minister is also set to unveil infrastructure projects, including railway developments worth Rs 2,871 crore and highway projects valued at Rs 1,000 crore.
On social media, political leaders from across India sent their birthday wishes to the Prime Minister. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha hailed Modi’s vision for a prosperous India, while Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his admiration for Modi's leadership, wishing him strength to continue working toward a developed India by 2047.
Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik also joined in the birthday tributes, sharing a special sand sculpture dedicated to the Prime Minister. In his message, Pattnaik wished Modi success in his vision for a "Viksit Bharat" and extended his blessings from Lord Jagannath.
