Ahead of his party's foundation day on October 2, Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishor made a bold pledge on Saturday, promising to end the liquor ban in Bihar within an hour if his party comes to power. Speaking to ANI, Kishor emphasized that preparations for this move have been underway for two years.

When asked about Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's ongoing yatra, Kishor extended his best wishes, adding, "At least he has stepped out of his home and is engaging with the public." However, he took a critical stance on the political rivalry between Tejashwi Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Kishor dismissed the recent verbal spat between the two, saying, "Both Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav have caused significant harm to Bihar over the last 30 years. It doesn't matter who apologised to whom—what matters is that their leadership has not benefited the state. We are asking both of them to step aside."

Kishor also launched a direct attack on Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav, questioning his ability to guide the state's development. Speaking in Bhojpur, he pointed out Yadav's educational shortcomings, stating, "If someone couldn’t pursue education due to a lack of resources, it's understandable. But when someone’s parents were Chief Ministers and they couldn’t pass the 10th grade, it shows their attitude towards education."

He further criticized Tejashwi’s leadership qualifications, stating that his primary claim to political leadership stems from being the son of former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Kishor argued that if Tejashwi wishes to be taken seriously, he needs to build a reputation based on merit, not family ties, and work to prove himself through meaningful contributions to Bihar's development.
