Rahul Gandhi Alleges ED Raid Plan After 'Chakravyuh' Speech, Awaits with 'Chai and Biscuits'
Rahul Gandhi claims ED
02-08-2024Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, claimed on Friday that "insiders" from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed him of an impending raid against him following his "Chakravyuh" speech during the Union Budget 2024 discussion. Despite the alleged threat, Gandhi stated he is ready to welcome the central probe agency with "open arms" and even offered "chai and biscuits."
Posting on X, Gandhi wrote, "Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech. ED ‘insiders’ tell me a raid is being planned. Waiting with open arms... Chai and biscuits on me."
This statement follows Gandhi's critical address on July 29, where he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha discussion on Budget 2024. Gandhi accused PM Modi of ensnaring Indians in a modern-day "Chakravyuh," a reference to a complex battle formation.
In his speech, Gandhi drew a parallel between the ancient "Chakravyuh" from the Mahabharata and the current political situation. He remarked, "Thousands of years ago, in Kurukshetra, six people trapped Abhimanyu in a 'Chakravyuh' and killed him. I found that 'Chakravyuh' is also known as 'Padmavyuh,' meaning 'Lotus formation.' In the 21st century, a new 'Chakravyuh' has taken shape, represented by the Lotus symbol worn by the Prime Minister. What happened to Abhimanyu is happening to India today—our youth, farmers, women, and small and medium businesses are being trapped. Six people control India today: Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, Ajit Doval, and Ambani Adani."
