Reliance Jio has quietly rolled out a new prepaid plan for its customers in India, marking it as the most economical option for unlimited true 5G data. Priced at Rs. 198, this plan offers unlimited 5G data but comes with a shorter validity period. It also includes unlimited voice calling and access to several Jio apps, such as Jio Cinema and Jio Cloud.

The Rs. 198 plan is now available on the Reliance Jio website and has replaced the previous Rs. 349 plan as the most affordable unlimited 5G option. This new plan provides 2GB of 4G data per day, totaling 28GB. Once the data limit is reached, speeds will be reduced to 64kbps. In addition to data, the plan includes unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. Subscribers also receive access to Jio Cloud, Jio TV, and Jio Cinema, though Jio Cinema Premium is not included.

The plan is valid for just 14 days, which is half the duration of the Rs. 349 plan's 28-day validity. This limited validity is a trade-off for the lower price.

In comparison, Bharti Airtel, a major competitor in the Indian telecom market, does not offer a prepaid plan at a similar price point. Airtel's lowest unlimited 5G plan is priced at Rs. 379, offering 2GB of 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and one month of validity. This plan also includes access to Xtreme Play, Wynk, and Hello Tunes.
