Sanjay Malhotra, the current Revenue Secretary, has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
He is set to assume office on Wednesday for a tenure of three years, according to a government announcement. Malhotra, a 1990-batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, takes over the prestigious position at a crucial time for the country's financial sector.
