Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal recently tied the knot in a private civil ceremony at her Bandra residence, attended by close friends and family. Following the intimate wedding, they hosted a glamorous reception with many Bollywood stars.

Since the wedding, Sonakshi has faced criticism for her choice of partner. The 'Akira' actress subtly addressed the trolls through a comment on Instagram. Illustrator Prasad Bhat had shared a caricature of the couple from their reception, captioned, "Love is the universal religion. Wishing @aslisona @iamzahero a happy life (sic)." Sonakshi responded by writing, "Truest words!! This is adorable. Thank you (sic)." She also reposted the illustration, calling it "Cute."

Sonakshi's father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, defended his daughter's decision to marry Zaheer Iqbal. Speaking to Times Now, he stated, "A wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment."

Her 'Heeramandi' co-star, Richa Chadha, also showed her support by sharing a picture of the newlyweds on Instagram. She praised their simplicity and commitment, writing, "Dear Sona and Zaheer! I am floored by your simplicity, your commitment to each other and am so damn happy that you dance to your own tune!... Love you enough to brave crowds in month 9! LOL. You make an amazing jodi. The wedding reception was a star-studded event with notable attendees including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Tabu, and Kajol. The couple also received blessings from veteran actress Rekha.
