Tata Motors has launched a significant comfort and efficiency upgrade for commercial vehicle drivers by introducing factory-installed air-conditioned cabins across its entire truck portfolio. This enhancement spans models such as the SFC, LPT, Ultra, Signa, and Prima — and, for the first time in India, extends to cowl chassis models as well.
The move is designed to improve driver well-being and performance while aligning with evolving regulatory norms. Tata has also packed in a suite of intelligent enhancements to boost on-road efficiency and reduce overall operational costs for transport businesses.
Commenting on the rollout, Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said: “This is a major stride in offering a more driver-friendly environment that enhances comfort and productivity. Beyond meeting regulatory mandates, we’ve introduced thoughtful upgrades aimed at increasing profitability for fleet owners. These changes are a result of extensive feedback and a clear focus on engineering excellence.”
The air-conditioning systems include dual operational modes — Eco for efficiency and Heavy for enhanced cooling — tailored to different driving conditions. Tata’s heavy-duty trucks now come with engine power ratings of up to 320hp, boosting capability for demanding applications. Additional improvements include engine idle auto-stop to conserve fuel and a voice-alert system that keeps drivers informed of key vehicle parameters in real-time.
To support this enhanced offering, Tata Motors continues to invest in its wide service ecosystem, which now includes over 3,000 service points across India. The company’s Sampoorna Seva 2.0 initiative provides robust aftersales support, while the Fleet Edge digital platform helps logistics operators monitor vehicle health, optimise performance, and reduce downtime.
