A man from Sircilla, Telangana, was arrested on Sunday after a video showing him cooking and eating 'peacock curry' sparked widespread outrage on social media. The video, which went viral, led to accusations against the YouTuber, Kodam Pranay Kumar, for promoting illegal wildlife consumption, as the peacock is India's national bird.

The controversial video has since been removed from Kumar's YouTube channel, but the damage was already done. The Telangana Forest Department arrested Kumar and conducted a thorough inspection of the area where the video was filmed. He is now facing charges under the Wildlife Protection Act for allegedly involving and promoting the killing of a protected species.

Authorities are currently investigating the authenticity of the video, with forest officials collecting samples for forensic analysis. Sircilla Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan confirmed that a case has been registered against Kumar. "Strict action will be taken against him and anyone else engaging in such illegal activities," said Mahajan.

The YouTuber's blood samples, along with portions of the curry shown in the video, have been sent for testing. If the tests confirm the presence of peacock meat, further legal action will be taken.
