Amid ongoing legal scrutiny over Prince Harry’s immigration status, former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he has no intention of deporting the exiled British royal. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump remarked that Harry “has enough problems with his wife” and confirmed that he would not take action against him.

“I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” Trump said, taking a swipe at Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020 and relocated to California, where they have since launched a non-profit and pursued various media ventures.

Trump’s remarks come as the conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, continues to press for a review of Harry’s visa application. The group alleges that the prince may have failed to disclose past drug use, as detailed in his memoir. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is facing calls to investigate the matter, which is currently under judicial review.

Trump has frequently criticized Harry and Meghan, accusing them of receiving preferential treatment from the Biden administration. He has also ridiculed Harry, claiming he is “being led around by the nose” by Meghan.

The Sussexes, in turn, have been vocal critics of Trump. Meghan previously labeled him “divisive” and “misogynistic” during the 2016 presidential election.

The issue of Prince Harry’s visa status has resurfaced as Trump pushes for strict immigration policies, including mass deportations of undocumented individuals. However, despite the legal uncertainties surrounding Harry’s residency, Trump has made it clear that he has no plans to intervene.
