Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli is gearing up for a major move in the sports business arena. After ending his long-running association with Puma, the star batter announced a fresh collaboration with emerging sportswear label Agilitas Sports. On Monday, Kohli revealed that his lifestyle line, one8, will now operate in partnership with Agilitas — a deal in which he has reportedly invested around ₹40 crore. This decision also meant turning down a ₹300-crore proposal from Puma following the completion of their eight-year agreement.

Sharing the update on social media, Kohli wrote that a “new chapter” had begun for one8, calling the association with Agilitas a purpose-driven and ambitious step forward.

Agilitas Sports was founded by Abhishek Ganguly, the former head of Puma India. Kohli said Ganguly’s vision, strong manufacturing ecosystem, and experienced team convinced him that the venture had the potential to grow into something significant — prompting him to join hands as a partner.

Ganguly later confirmed that Kohli will hold a minority stake in the company. He noted that Kohli’s decision was not about making up for the large amount he declined from Puma, but about investing in a long-term opportunity with promising growth prospects.

On the cricket front, Kohli continues to dominate. The 37-year-old recently hammered 302 runs, including two centuries, across three matches against South Africa — a performance that earned him the Player of the Series award.
