Woman Deboarded from Pune-Delhi Flight for Assaulting Passengers and Security Officer
A woman was removed from an IndiGo flight at Pune Airport after attacking passengers and slapping a CISF officer during the boarding process
20-08-2024At Pune's Lohgaon Airport, a woman was removed from an IndiGo flight bound for Delhi after allegedly assaulting two fellow passengers and slapping a security officer. The incident occurred around 7:45 AM on Saturday, August 17, during the boarding process for flight 6E 5261.
The altercation began when the woman attacked two passengers seated in their assigned seats. As the situation escalated, airline crew members intervened, and two CISF constables, Priyanka Reddy and Sonika Pal, were called in for assistance. During the confrontation, the woman reportedly slapped Constable Reddy and bit her hand. The CISF officers eventually subdued the woman and, along with her husband who was traveling with her, escorted them off the aircraft. The couple was then handed over to airport police.
In a similar recent incident, a woman was deboarded from a Lucknow-Mumbai Akasa Air flight for unruly behavior towards crew members and passengers. The woman involved in the Pune incident has been booked under Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.
