Zomato to Rebrand as Eternal Ltd., Expanding Beyond Food Delivery
Zomato’s board has approved a name change to Eternal Ltd., marking its expansion beyond food delivery while retaining the Zomato brand for its core business
06-02-2025Zomato will soon operate under the name Eternal Ltd., following board approval for the rebranding, CEO Deepinder Goyal announced in a letter to shareholders. Despite the corporate name change, the food delivery platform will continue to be known as Zomato for customers.
Goyal explained that the decision reflects the company’s evolution beyond food delivery. "When we acquired Blinkit, we internally started referring to the overall company as ‘Eternal’ to differentiate between the business entity and our consumer-facing brands. We always knew that the official renaming would happen when a business beyond Zomato became a key part of our future. With Blinkit’s growth, that time has come," he stated.
The announcement comes shortly after Zomato was included in the BSE Sensex on December 23, coinciding with its 17th anniversary. Goyal described this milestone as both an achievement and a responsibility, making it an appropriate moment for the company's transformation.
Under the Eternal Ltd. umbrella, the company will oversee four businesses—Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure, and District. Once shareholders approve the transition, the corporate website will move from zomato.com to eternal.com, and the stock ticker will change from ZOMATO to ETERNAL.
Goyal acknowledged that the name Eternal carries weight, symbolizing both ambition and responsibility. "It’s not just a new name but a statement of intent—an acknowledgment that true longevity is not about short-term success but about constant evolution," he wrote.
With this transition, Zomato aims to position itself as more than just a food delivery service, paving the way for broader ventures in the tech and commerce sectors.
