Arvind Kejriwal Given Tea and Biscuits in Court After Low Blood Sugar Complaint

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on Wednesday in connection with the liquor policy case and later experienced uneasiness in court due to low blood sugar levels.

During the hearing at Delhi's Rouse Avenue court, Kejriwal informed the judge about his low sugar levels and requested to eat something. The court allowed him to step into an adjoining room where he had tea and biscuits before returning to the proceedings, as reported by ANI.

Kejriwal's arrest followed Special Judge Amitabh Rawat's approval of the CBI's application to take him into custody. Kejriwal was brought to court from Tihar central jail, where he is being held related to a money laundering case tied to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy.

Since his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, 2024, Kejriwal has faced several health issues. As a diabetic, he had a significant spike in his blood sugar levels, prompting his party to express concerns over his health.

While in Tihar jail, Kejriwal requested insulin, which was provided only after a court order. This situation led to tensions between the Aam Aadmi Party, the prison authorities, and the BJP. The AAP accused the BJP of neglecting Kejriwal's health for political reasons, an allegation the BJP denied.
