A magisterial court in Delhi on Monday rejected the bail plea of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in connection with a case involving the assault of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal.

Kumar allegedly assaulted Maliwal at the Chief Minister's residence in New Delhi on May 13. He was subsequently placed in four days' judicial custody starting from May 24.

According to Maliwal's account, the incident occurred while she was waiting to meet Kejriwal at his official residence. Kumar purportedly subjected her to verbal abuse, threats, and physical assault, including dragging and slamming her head on a center table.
