Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has petitioned the Supreme Court to challenge the Delhi High Court's decision to pause his bail in the ongoing liquor policy corruption case. The High Court halted the trial court's bail order following a petition by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until the agency's petition is heard.

The ED contested the bail granted to Kejriwal just before he was set to leave Tihar jail, arguing that the trial court's decision was flawed and based on incorrect information. The High Court has requested a response from Kejriwal on this matter.

Kejriwal's legal team is seeking an urgent hearing, highlighting the procedural issues raised by the ED. The Chief Minister has been in custody since March 21, with a brief interim bail for the general elections.

Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal's wife, criticized the timing of the ED's challenge, claiming it was filed even before the bail order was officially released, calling it a sign of increasing authoritarianism.
