Actor Raveena Tandon has initiated a Rs. 100 crore defamation lawsuit against an individual who circulated a video misrepresenting a supposed road rage incident involving her. The video falsely claimed that Raveena's car had struck the man's mother and accused her of assault. However, Mumbai police investigations concluded that her car was not involved in any such incident.

According to the defamation notice issued through her advocate Sana Raees Khan, Raveena had informed the individual of the factual inaccuracies in the video, backed by police findings. Despite sending a request to remove the video from his X (formerly Twitter) account on June 5 via email, the man refused to comply and even threatened legal action if Raveena did not withdraw her request within 24 hours.

Speaking on the matter, Raveena Tandon's lawyer Sana Raees Khan highlighted, "Recently, an attempt was made to falsely implicate Raveena in baseless allegations, which were subsequently debunked by CCTV footage and received no formal complaint. However, a self-proclaimed journalist continues to disseminate false information on X regarding the incident, which is entirely misleading and factually incorrect," as reported by India Today.

In her legal notice, Raveena accused the individual of intentionally defaming her through social media and news platforms with fabricated news aimed at causing public embarrassment and mental distress. The notice asserts that such malicious actions appear to be motivated by extortion and a desire for undeserved publicity at the expense of Raveena's reputation.

Advocate Sana Khan affirmed, "We are actively pursuing legal avenues to address this matter and ensure justice prevails, holding the responsible party accountable for perpetuating this defamatory campaign against Raveena."
