A complaint has been filed with the cyber unit of the Delhi Police following the viral spread of a social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter) impersonating Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud. The impersonator allegedly requested money, claiming to be stranded and in urgent need of funds for transportation.

According to a widely circulated screenshot of the post, the impersonator posed as CJI Chandrachud and claimed to be stuck in Connaught Place, New Delhi. The individual requested Rs 500 to cover cab fare to reach an important collegium meeting at the Supreme Court. The message read, "Hello, I am CJI and we have an urgent meeting of the collegium and I am stuck at Connaught Place. Can you send me Rs 500 for cab? I will return the money once I reach the court."

The unusual and suspicious nature of the post caught the attention of authorities at the Supreme Court, prompting them to take immediate action. An FIR was subsequently lodged with the cyber branch of the Delhi Police to investigate the matter.

The incident has highlighted the dangers of online impersonation and raised concerns about the misuse of social media platforms for fraudulent activities.
