Tandon & Co. has announced a strategic merger with Aretha Legal that brings together two firms with complementary strengths to create a Multi-Service Law Firm with national presence and integrated practice capabilities.

This merger marks the coming together of an established litigation and regulatory advisory practice, led by Aanchal Tandon, with a renowned corporate and commercial law firm founded by Ray Vikram Nath, Nitin Gera and Prashant Kumar, resulting in a unified entity capable of delivering comprehensive services under one roof.

Established in 2007 by Kunal Tandon, who has recently been designated as a Senior Advocate by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Tandon & Co. has built a solid reputation for almost two decades in litigation, dispute resolution, white-collar crime, and regulatory matters. Aanchal Tandon, who was leading the firm as the Managing Partner of Tandon & Co., has consistently advised clients across forums with an established body of work in the judicial and regulatory landscape. She has been particularly well-regarded for her strategic litigation advice and court craft. As a part of this merger, she will now be leading her practice as a Senior Partner at Aretha Legal.

Aretha Legal, established in 2022 by Ray Vikram Nath, Nitin Gera and Prashant Kumar, has established itself as a progressive law firm known for business-focused legal solutions across litigation, real estate, cross-border transactions, M&A, Private Equity, Joint Ventures, Corporate Advisory, Projects, and Project Finance. While Ray Vikram Nath’s extensive experience of over two decades in litigation aligns with Aanchal’s experience in litigation and regulatory matters, Prashant and Nitin have anchored the firm’s commercial and transactional practice with a focus on client strategy, deal execution, and cross-sectoral advisory. With this merger, Aretha Legal transforms into a multi-service powerhouse offering integrated capabilities across litigation, corporate advisory, and regulatory support under one roof.

Commenting on the merger, Aanchal Tandon, Senior Partner of Tandon & Co., said, “For me, this merger is a watershed moment in my professional journey, and yet it feels deeply personal! When I first met the team at Aretha Legal, I was struck by their clarity of thought, commercial acumen, and the sincerity with which they approach client work. Our conversations were never about just combining practices, but about building something meaningful, a law firm where diverse strengths come together to serve clients better, and where young talent can grow with purpose. I’ve always believed that the best legal work happens when lawyers care about the client and the outcome, while enjoying the process. And in Aretha Legal, I found partners who care just as deeply. Together, we are building a future-ready firm.”

In a joint statement, Ray Vikram Nath, Nitin Gera and Prashant Kumar, Founding Partners of Aretha Legal, shared, “This merger represents much more than a coming together of two firms; it’s the alignment of people who believe in something larger than themselves. When we began Aretha Legal, we set out to create a space where legal advice was strategic, business-aligned, and always in tune with the client’s journey. Over time, we realised that our clients also needed the kind of litigation and regulatory support that Aanchal and her team excel in. From our very first discussion, it was clear that our values aligned. Personally, for the three of us, it feels like we’re beginning a new chapter with renewed energy, deeper purpose, and a lot of respect for what each of us brings to the table.”

With this development, Aretha Legal now has 7 Partners operating out of offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cochin. The integration process is already underway, with practice groups, knowledge systems, and internal operations being aligned to ensure a smooth and collaborative transition.
