In Uttar Pradesh's Amroha, a private school principal has suspended a nursery student for allegedly bringing non-vegetarian food in his lunch box. The situation came to light after a video, filmed by the child's mother, went viral on social media.

The video captures a confrontation between the principal and the mother, where the principal is heard making derogatory comments about the student's food choice. He reportedly expressed disdain for the "morals" of students who bring non-vegetarian food and suggested that the child’s family was promoting religious conversion.

The principal also claimed that the boy had spoken about converting others to Islam and that his food preferences were a reflection of his home environment. The mother denied these accusations, asserting that her 7-year-old son could not have made such statements and criticizing the principal for prejudicing the student due to his lunch.

The principal justified the suspension by citing complaints from other parents and stated that the child's name had been removed from the school register. In response, the mother alleged that other students had been harassing her son and that the principal's claims were an attempt to mislead.

In reaction to the viral video, the Amroha Police have intervened. The District Inspector of Schools (DIS) has formed a three-member committee to investigate the issue and determine the appropriate course of action.
